Nicky Walsh is a Senior Manager of Private Clients for First Names Group in Guernsey.
Happy people have the ability to achieve extraordinary things. Nicky is no exception and pro-actively manages a team of six accountants who prepare financial statements for private clients and a managed trust. Whether her team are meeting targets for completed accounts, jurisdictional requirements for filing deadlines or supporting the administration teams, Nicky reminds everyone that their contribution matters. She never says that she will get back to you, preferring to help solve the problem immediately. Her caring approach to people complements Nicky’s pragmatic organisational skills so that even complex tasks seem easy.
All the best things in life come free.
With over 25 years’ experience in accountancy, both management and client accounting, Nicky looks back and laughs as she remembers standing in the careers line at school pondering her future. School friends recommended Nicky for the accounting job because she loved maths, which led to an offer from one of the world's leading manufacturing and trading companies. Her role developed from there and she learnt to push her boundaries. Having started with a BTEC qualification she is now a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
IN THREE WORDS:
Every single person plays a role in the company’s success, and therefore Nicky says that everyone deserves acknowledgment that what they do makes a difference. Sam Le Brun is a great team player and very dependable, and Stuart Dowding is a positive influence giving unbiased advice.
Whilst she was living in Singapore Nicky was lucky enough to see Il Divo live in concert, to this day she relaxes by listening to their operatic sound with a glass of smooth red wine. Equally happy with the sun on her face and the wind in her hair, she looks forward to peaceful summer days exploring the beaches and coves of nearby Herm Island.
