Peter Unwin talks asset protection in eprivateclient Middle East Report

17 February 2016

eprivateclient, a leading website and news service for private client practitioners, produces a series of special reports each year on a number of international financial centres. They recently published their very first Middle East Report - which features Peter Unwin, Client Services Director for First Names Group in Jersey.

Given the current instability in the Gulf region, wealth preservation is a top priority for many families and individuals there. In his article, Peter addresses the question: 'Amidst political unrest, what can be done for private clients to make sure their assets are protected?'

With over 20 years’ experience in the private client and corporate services arenas, Peter is responsible for overseeing a range of management activities, in particular the development and enhancement of client relationships, and regularly has oversight of family wealth and complex cross-border transactions for his clients. Having come to First Names Group from a leading multi-family office, Peter has a wealth of experience dealing with GCC families. He has been involved in strategic planning for family governance, including succession planning and family constitutions, and is well versed in the establishment, administration and governance of multi-jurisdictional structures for the holding of a variety of business interests, investments, lifestyle assets and philanthropic activities. Peter is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a member of the Institute of Directors.
