First Names Group makes a string of senior appointments in Jersey

17 November 2015

We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new Client Services Directors. Carol Keenan and Gerard O’Gorman will both be based in our head office in Jersey. Their appointments are effective immediately.

This announcement comes shortly after the appointment of Malcolm Macleod as Head of Corporate Services for the Channel Islands. Malcolm will be responsible for the corporate team in the Channel Islands and will work closely with Carol. Meanwhile, Gerard will assume responsibility of an existing client portfolio within the Group’s Private Client service line.

An experienced legal professional, Carol joins us from Elian where she acted as Group In-House Counsel, having previously spent 12 years with the Ogier Group. Before moving to Jersey, Carol worked as a lawyer with Linklaters in Hong Kong and London. She holds a law degree from Trinity College, Dublin.

Gerard has over 25 years’ experience in managing High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth individuals and their families from all around the world. Prior to joining First Names Group, Gerard spent 14 years with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), where he had responsibility for managing a large client portfolio while also overseeing a team of 50 personnel in a private client department as Fiduciary Business Lead. Gerard is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).

Ben Newman, Managing Director of First Names Group in Jersey, commented:

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Carol and Gerard to the team. It is an exciting time for First Names Group as we continue to progress our long-term strategy and achieve our organic growth objectives. Both Carol and Gerard will play a vital role as we continue to build our Corporate service line and further strengthen our Private Client offering in the Channel Islands. They are both highly skilled professionals and I am confident their experience and knowledge will be a great asset to the team. We are delighted to have them on board.”
