First Names Group is delighted to announce that Lorraine Wheeler, Client Services Director, has been appointed Vice President of the Jersey Association of Trust Companies (JATCo).
JATCo is Jersey’s trust industry trade association, representing the interests of the Island’s trust companies. JATCo represents the majority of trust companies in Jersey with over 80 corporate members, employing an estimated 4000 people locally and contributing a significant percentage of the Island’s annual tax revenues.
JATCo’s members range from small locally owned trust companies to large multinational financial services providers. The association’s Committee reflects its membership with representation from the Jersey Bankers Association and the Jersey branch of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
Lorraine has worked in the fiduciary sector for 28 years, moving from the UK to Jersey via Bermuda and Switzerland. She holds a Trustee Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Bankers on top of a BSc Hons degree in Financial Services, and is an active member of STEP. Indeed, not only is Lorraine a member of the society, she was appointed Chair of STEP Jersey last year.
“I am honoured to have been named Vice President of JATCo. I joined the association a few years ago as a STEP representative and there is a lot of crossover between what the two organisations do, with JATCo representing trust companies and STEP representing its individual members. The Vice Presidency is a new position to support the President and I look forward to shaping the role as the year progresses.”
